Just used my 2' wide x 3' long x 9" deep evaporator yesterday for the first time. It worked great! No leaks in any of the welds or valves. I did check it a month ago by filling it with water to make sure it didn't leak, but I was still concerned what would happen once it was heated on the fire. No issues! I have been using three deep stainless steel steam pans for the past three few years, which worked well, but I wanted to take my sugaring hobby to the next level. What a difference! So much more efficient. I boiled down 45 gallons of sap in about 5 hours or so. It comes with the3/4" draw-off ball valve which I added a 4" extender to and elbow (all 304 food-grade stainless steel) to get me past my cinder block setup and help control to draw off. It also comes with an additional 1/2" ball valve for the other hole, but I added a thermostat instead. Highly recommend this pan for the backyard hobbyist. It is shipped very well with a great deal of rigid foam packing and thick cardboard to avoid damage in the shipping process. It did come a little dirty from the welding process, so make sure you clean yours well before use. "Sugar on.........!"

HOWEVER...because it is built so well, we are EXTREMELY excited to do our next year's boil and HIGHLY recommend it for anyone who boils their own sap. Order it early, though, because it does take quite a while to get to you.

Nice heavy gauge. Perfect for making maple syrup. I have the 24 x 24....it matched up perfectly with the Bayou Classic heavy duty gas stove.

Great product clean and well manufactured. Comes with stainless steel ball valves that hold up to the heat.

I got this pan to improve the speed and efficiency in evaporating maple sap into syrup. Previously I was using the double propane burner pictured along with two restaurant steam table pans. That set up worked but it was painfully slow and wasted allot of propane. I'm happy to say this evaporator pan worked as expected. It cut my time and propane use about in half. One annoying thing is the included ball valve leaks. It releases about one drop every 5 to 10 seconds. You can see a drop ready to fall in the photo. The rate of drip is tolerable but annoying none the less. I'll be buying a better valve.

I ordered the pan with a divider and thermometer. They sent one with neither of them. After contacting them they made a nice credit to my account. The pan looks very nice. Nice forming. Clean welding. Excellent finishing.
