I wanted to leave the tailgate on and down on my Isuzu Dmax Fury when carrying a demountable camper. I needed to protect the tailgate paintwork from possible stonechips. This is perfect for the job. Well made, waterproof and easy to fit. The padding and soft internal finish are good. The price is very excellent too. I can still shut the tailgate when the canopy is on so perfect for the job.

I_e seen other people use this type of rack and wanted to give it a try. I have a Dodge Ram 1500 and this pad fits it perfectly. I do like the access patch makes it easy to unlatch the tail gate. I did have some difficulty during setup, I found it hard to feed the straps under the tailgate its definitely better to have another person help with this during setup. The pad is durable and definitely protects the finish on my truck and the Velcro straps do keep the bikes in place. One thing to note, the pad does not offer any security mechanism. Fortunately, though, my truck has built in eye-bolts that I loop a chain through to secure my bikes.

Got this tailgate pad for my new Tacoma to protect the gate from bikes, lumber transport, and lots of other items. It's very soft on the tailgate portion, and shouldn't scratch the paint at all. It's also pretty easy to install, but taking it off can be a slight pain. Overall, this is a decent pad for the price, and if you're not looking to buy name-brand, it can save you quite a bit of money for what's essentially the same thing as the big boys.
