Most bang for buck
Withstood entire day of hard forging on edge with no defects. Weighed 136lb on scale. Filed edge more rounded so work edge better. Nice ring but chain makes quiet. Another company had $30 cheaper, company refunded difference, amazing. Solid performing anvil, highly recommend for the price. Spark test showed high carbon steel. You like!

Anvils are forever
This is anvil is a great price and it came with an extra hammer. It shipped fast and is exactly what I expected. I like cold working sheet metal to make and to modify armor pieces. I'd been using a 12" x 12" plate of 3/8 inch thick AR500 steel up until this point but I am happy to have a real anvil to work with for many reasons. With patience, hammer control, and this anvil I can't go wrong.KU

Cast iron
Use full tool.$90 for a cast iron anvil.Cast iron is brittle and soft. The anvil dents easily but thats to expected from cast iron.Don't use a 10lbs hamer on it ,you'll brake it.If it becomes to much dented flip it upside down on a belt grinder.Otherwise spend $250 for Carbon steel one
