The review concerns the use of this pump for PCP air rifles.
For other uses such as scuba tanks, etc., I have no opinion or experience.
For those who might be wondering or hesitating to buy this pump because of its very low price, I’d like to assure you that it is fully capable of filling a PCP air rifle properly, even up to 4350 psi. That’s the maximum pressure of my rifle, and I’ve filled it many times over the past four months of use.
The issues I’ll describe below can probably occur with any pump, even the more expensive ones. However, since this is the only pump I’ve ever owned, my comments refer solely to this model.
First of all, it must be understood that filling a rifle to 3000–3500 psi is one thing, and filling it all the way to 4350 psi is another. Beyond 3500 psi things get much harder. I’m not referring just to the physical effort, endurance, and technique required, but to the fact that at these very high pressures the pump itself is put under a lot of strain.
It therefore requires regular maintenance, as over time and depending on usage it starts to work less efficiently. Later, even basic maintenance—lubrication, cleaning, moisture oil filling, etc.—won’t be enough. You’ll need to start replacing O-rings, going deeper and deeper each time. Eventually, you’ll find yourself disassembling the pump completely, down to the last screw, replacing every single hidden O-ring.
Even then, there comes a point when the pump once again refuses to work smoothly—or at all. At that stage, you keep trying different fixes, replacing more O-rings, cleaning again, and generally spending a lot of time—but the pump still won’t cooperate.
After trying everything, I finally ordered extra spare parts from AliExpress, since the ones included in the original package were used up. Most importantly, I ordered two components that were not included in the original kit and which I had never replaced:
the 3-stage pump copper piston head, and
the one-way Foster valve.
Although I had previously changed their springs and O-rings, I concluded that these two parts were likely responsible for the malfunction.
After waiting 15 days and receiving the new parts, I installed them—and suddenly the pump started working again as good as new. I’ve filled my air rifle four times since then, and everything seems perfectly fine so far.
In conclusion, this is an honest and capable pump that does its job well—but you must either know how or be willing to learn how to completely take it apart, as it’s quite sensitive and requires a lot of time and care.
I would recommend not pushing it too hard, and if possible, avoid going beyond 3700–4000 psi, as that will extend the intervals between maintenance and repairs.
Also, the two important spare parts I mentioned should definitely be included in the original package.
