The two zones are served by one compressor system, with the left zone being set from the control panel; the right refrigeration zone maintains its temperature based on that setting, rather than running on an independently dialed input.
It is perfect for those who want to keep freeze and chill storage separate but don’t want the hassle of dealing with two different temperature inputs. Set the left zone to your desired freezer temperature, and the right zone automatically maintains a cooling offset. It's a simpler operational model than true dual-zone independent control, and for most travel scenarios, frozen meat on one side, drinks and fruit on the other, it meets the need cleanly without any manual juggling between zone settings during the trip.
Both compartments are lined with vacuum-formed HIPS, providing a rigid, thermally stable surface for the freezer and fridge zones. The interior walls need to be able to maintain their shape under varying thermal stress - the freezer side is much colder than the fridge side - without distorting or creating gaps that would affect the insulation between the zones.
The PP + HDPE outer shell provides external impact resistance while keeping the weight down to 13.9kg, making the unit manageable. HDPE won’t crack in cold conditions, which is critical when the unit is loaded cold and dragged across a parking lot or onto a boat deck. The 618 x 376 x 514mm footprint is the same width as the 25L dual-zone model but taller, giving each compartment more vertical storage depth without increasing the floor space the unit occupies in a vehicle boot or RV galley.
Both the portable fridge and freezer zones are pumped down to their target temperatures by a single compressor, which brings the left compartment to -20°C / -4°F in about 1.5 hours at an ambient temperature of 77°F. Cooling a 39L unit with two separate thermal zones through a single compressor system is more demanding than cooling a single-zone unit of comparable volume. The fact that pull-down time remains within 1.5 hours reflects the efficiency of the cooling circuit throughout the interior.
No ice is ever needed in either compartment during operation. All 39L of combined capacity is available for food and drink from the first load, as both zones are mechanically cooled throughout. The compressor can also tilt up to 45 degrees without stopping the cooling cycle, so both zones remain stable on sloped terrain, ferry ramps, or a boat deck, where you can’t always guarantee a level surface during use.
This portable fridge and freezer operate at or below 45dB in both ECO and MAX modes, reducing cabin noise levels even when two zones are actively maintained. The double-door construction and the PP + HDPE shell provide damping of compressor-induced vibrations, helping to keep the operating noise level low. ECO mode keeps the draw under 46W, total daily consumption under 1 kWh - efficient for a unit running two compartments at once. MAX mode runs at 60W to accelerate temperature recovery in one or both zones after long lid openings during meal prep or when ambient temperatures exceed the unit’s comfortable operating range. The LCD touchscreen allows the user to switch between modes without interrupting the active cooling cycle in either zone.
The LED control panel displays the temperature of the active control zone and allows direct adjustments from the exterior face of the unit over the -4°F to 68°F range. Pairing via Bluetooth connects the fridge to a mobile app, enabling temperature checks and adjustments from outside the vehicle, a handy feature when the unit is loaded into a rear cargo area and the lid is inaccessible from the driver's position without stopping.
Includes 110/240V AC and 12/24V DC adapters so you can use the unit immediately at home, in a car, in a truck or van, on an RV hookup, or plugged into a marina shore power supply. Pre-loading both zones at home before a trip allows you to leave with everything already at target temperature, reducing the pull-down time demand on the vehicle's power port once underway. This pre-cooling approach works very well on a 39L dual-zone unit, where it takes longer to bring both compartments down from ambient simultaneously than in a smaller single-zone box.
