I need a similar rack for my Suzuki Swift 2011. The distance between the two crossbars is only 26" while the instructions say it must be at least 29". Can I use this product anyway?

It can be used, but we don't know whether the distance of your crossbar frame is adjustable. If it is adjustable, it is best to make the distance wider, so that the load-bearing effect after installation is best.
