The purification room on this still is just an empty chamber where the vapours pass before going to the condenser, or is there something else more inside? How does it work? Thanks.

There is nothing else on the product. A distiller is a material processing equipment that uses the difference in evaporation rates of materials at different temperatures to separate them. Its basic principle is to use the different boiling points (i.e. evaporation temperatures) of the components in the mixture to evaporate them by heating, and then condense them at low temperatures to separate the components.
