Can the person using the bed close and open the side rails themselves without assistance to go to the toilet for example or does someone have to lower the side rail for them to leave the bed.
You can reach out from the bed and lower the side rails, but it is not recommended because you have to lean out and there is a risk of falling. It is recommended that you ask someone else to lower the side rails.
