I needed a vise that does not lift the moving jaw and not very large. After checking several tests at Youtube i found I could buy locally but from Vevor in EU I had the best price. Fast delivery as well. I stoned all sharp edges and cleaned everything thoroughly, then reoiled with way oil. After reassembly I have used it several times and I am fully satisfied with it's performance. Since some years I also have a Vevor dividing appararus for my milling machine that works fine. I recommend this vise as good value for money

It's cheap and cheerful, for the money it's bloody good, I ran a dti over it and it was within 0.01mm on X,Y&Z. edges needed easing as many youtube reviews have said, The base was pretty good I ran a stone over it and although not absolutely perfect I wasn't concerned about anything. The jaws I will probably replace as when the vice arrived they were ground flat on the top, I assume once assembled. once taken apart there is no repeatability. I had to jiggle them about a bit to get them back trammed with the dti. but hey ho it's not a Kurt and not a Kurt price. I can't really comment on the swivel base as I only checked for parallelism. for the deg if I wanted accuracy I would use a sine bar anyway. One thing I did notice was 0 deg started underneath the screw, making 90 deg to the side where there is a mark for setting, no problem for me though. I have the vice on the bed with no base, used my own T nuts and bolts as they were better. For the money it is very good value in my opinion, and would not hesitate in purchasing another should the need arise .

After a quick deburring of the bottom, set this up on a surface plate. The bed was flat to within 0.01 mm (0.00025") and the fixed jaw square to within the ability of my tools to measure it. The jaws needed a little adjustment to get them aligned, and the tops are then flat to within 0.015 mm. Finish is generally nice, but I would dismantle, clean and lubricate before using to get the smoothest action, like any other machine tool. Pretty impressive for the price.

Works great and delivers excellent value for money. Edges of unmachined surfaces can be sharp and would benefit from a more detailed finishing process. Locating dowels of different widths could be supplied to make mounting easier.
