We looked into purchasing a Murphy bed and were shocked at the prices and lower quality, plus, we have non-standard room dimensions and wouldn’t get a clean finished look like we wanted.
While we’ve done some simpler home projects, this is by far the largest undertaking and we are so glad we did it.
The instructions were very easy to follow and I highly recommend watching the video once all the way through before you begin your project, and follow the video for each step as you build it. It’s incredibly helpful to see what you’re about to do.
We struggled to get the mattress frame perfectly square on the face panels, but we eventually got it. I’m sure it’s our error versus anything from the kit/instructions.
Building our own Murphy bed and surround was thousands cheaper than building the entire setup or paying someone to do it (and the Murphy bed was definitely the easiest part).
I recommend this to anyone wanting to get/build a Murphy bed
