I bought this in to use in a country where the chimney mob is ruling and you are dependant on their so called 'expertise'. So before I connected a new stove on the the first chimney pipe that I cleaned with the kit, which was already cleaned by the chimney guys before and never used after, I got like 1 kilograms of black stuff in all kinds of sizes out, a half plastic shopping bag full! And that went great and the final result is a beautifully working new stove. It works great but I am a bit disappointed about the stiffness of the sticks. They are more thick then I expected so sure about the sharp corners.The quality of the material however is amazingly high. And how the joints fit together. All absolutely pro quality.The kit comes with a standard drill bit that clicks on the rest of the sticks. So the intention is you click the ball with the nylon cleaning threats (all super-sturdy quality!) on stick 1 and just clean a bit and leave it in the chimney. Then you take the bit off and put a second stick on and put your bit onto that and clean a bit further.This is all done from the inside out but in some cases it is best to do this from above so on the roof. pointing down. But in my case I could do it the manufacturer wants you to do, and with 8 sticks connected the ball was coming out at the chimney side. Then I did the whole thing the other way, taking all sticks back and off. This is when all remaining dust came, so it is good to do it this way and in 2 directions. It took me 3/4h in total to give you and idea.

I was unable to get the chimney swept professionally as the gap between the back boiler plate and the liner plate was too tight for their stiffer rods to go around. These rods were soft enough bend around to get the brush up the liner and sweep the chimney. Managed to clear a blockage at 9 metres up the chminey which got the gas fire drawing again. If this had failed the gas fire would have been condemned and a new heating system would have to been fitted. So well worth the cost.
