I really liked the weight and style of the handrail. This is a substantial piece which is very well finished and I am sure will last for some time to come. The one drawback is that the bolts to hold it are in brass and are designed for securing it to cement or concrete, not a wooden structure. Since the bolts are in brass, they contrast significantly with the hand bar which is black. I would suggest obtaining some bolts for it and painting them black. This aspect is simply a personal preference.

Worked great for three steps out the back door.

The railing is perfect. It is the perfect size and is a needed aid for my stepping from my deck into my house. Is it sturdy?...most certainly. And it looks great. I am most satisfied.

My husband bought two of these to install for an elderly customer. She absolutely loved them. She feels much more secure in navigating her front steps with these grab bars in place.

This is a much sturdier hand rail than it looks in the pictures. There is a peculiar misstatement in the description, suggesting that this is aluminum. It is a very heavy steel rail, painted nicely. The expansion bolts that came with it are reasonable quality_ half inch masonry drill is all it takes to drill into a brick wall to install them. It comes with a 12/14 mm open end wrench, but I found it much easier to use a socket wrench and ratchet. This makes it much safer to step out of my house to the patio.

Small but sturdy

Love everything about it minus the attachment screws. I had to go buy my own. Screws were cheap.
