UPDATE: After writing my initial review - the company reached out and offered a replacement or full refund. I must say that I am very impressed with their responsiveness and eagerness to make the situation right. I would not hesitate to purchase from them again - given how they stand behind their products.Original review: During install the main post sheared at the base plate connection. I have tried to fix it with jb-weld though I definitely question the durability. It does not feel like it will last more than a couple years.

I used it on 3 steps with a landing, I thought it was going to be a little long but it fit perfect . It was an old house the steps were made from 8x16 concrete block there was enough adjustment to fit these steps.

I have read other reviews and some of them suggested that I might need to put a block of wood under the lower base. My first trial install made me think that was the solution. Then, _OH I figured it out. Turn it around! Fits perfectly ? I was installing on wooden stairs so I purchased lag screws, they worked great.

Used for a step going into the garage (concrete floor). He installed it on the garage floor instead of the step. It works perfectly. The rail would have been too high otherwise.
