Very beautiful sounding instrument! I loved playing it but I_ returning my 8 note one, to get one with more notes. If your interested in playing a few random notes and a couple songs that it comes with, then the 8 note one will do fine. But it really needs note number 4 to play twinkle twinkle little star and most of the steel tongue music sheets I found on Pinterest. I_ getting one that_ 13 notes so that I can convert regular piano music books. Although this one is so simple it_ hard to play something that sounds bad. So if your just interested in making lovely sounds, this is the instrument for you.

This drum sounds lovely! Clear, soothing tones. Each tongue has a numbered sticker that is meaningless to me. Included are strips of equally meaningless numbered stickers. 1,2,3, three with a dot above it, 4,5,6,7, seven with a dot beneath it, etc.Why not musical notes? I'm using a tuner app to figure out what the tones are so we can tap out songs. Each tongue is adjustable for tuning, which is nice.That said, it sounds beautiful even when you tap randomly. The mallets are nice and bouncy, and you even get 4 little finger pads to play it that way. The metal has a nice hammered finish and is a good thickness, not flimsy.This is a nice, mid-sized and mid-priced tonal drum. Good value for what I paid. It doesn't feel "cheap", and none of the notes buzz or rattle.

I bought this for my 5 month old Granddaughter. The sound is soft and pleasant and her parents won_ get mad at me for the house! They will enjoy playing it for her too!

This was probably my son's favorite Christmas gift this year (11 y/o). It sounds great, is really easy to play, is a great size, and isn't too loud.You really can't make this drum sound bad, unless you maybe threw it down a flight of stairs. Plus, it's not extremely loud. If he played it in his room at 3 am, I doubt anyone would be bothered or woken up.There are a lot of videos online that will teach you how to play specific songs, but it's also great for making up your own songs.I highly recommend it.
