Good looking cable railing, almost invisible.
Used 6 cables on a deck railing at 3.75" apart. The posts were 4 - 6 ft apart. Cables stretch tight and look good.

Secure from thieves
Used to secure home garage materials from theft. End loops using bolts and nuts double secured with JB Weld. Nothing will stop thieves but this will slow them down until the police come.

Looks great as deck railing
I cut the cable both with large bolt cutters and the legit cable cutters. Both methods produced fine cuts. (FWIW, I gave one wrap with painter's tape for good measure.) No rust after being in the rain for about a month. No kinks or any other flaws in the cable.
