Sturdy, good value. A few minor scratches but for the money I cannot complain. The base does not keep the ball from moving but I can add something to fix that or just sit it on a thin piece of leather when I don't want it to move.But I'm puzzled by accessories. They are plentiful and mostly self-explanatory. But I am missing four that are pictured and instead got the four shiny pegs sitting diagonally in the holder in my photo. They don't fit into any hole on the vice so I have no idea what use they are. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a real expensive vise and I really don't see much difference in them. Great buy for the price!

The shipping was fast and this item was as advertised. Maybe due to language barrier many of the small jewelry spot welders, like this one, claim to be argon gas compatable but this one is one of the few that are set up for argon. It is easy to learn on comes with every thing but the argon tank set-up. You will need to buy an argon tank the flowmeter, or regulator, a 1\4 OD hose that goes into the welder and a 1\4 OD adapter for the regulator to plug the hose into. there is a video of this machine being hooked up on YouTube to give you an idea. it can also be used without the argon but it makes better welds when argon gas is used.

Very substantial block and a really good alternative to a grs block. I've used it for over 12 months and it's a great. Tricky to use a hammer though when setting as the bits can fly out for bezel setting but using thermoplast helps

As a hobbyist and beginner jewelry maker, I can_ speak to all the differences with the original, but for what I will use it for (working on bezel setting), this is a really good ball vise. The mechanism for the one I received rotates really smoothly, silently; loosen it, give it a spin, and will go and go. Tighten it up, and it stays put. The one flaw is with the attachment set - not as well-made as the ball vise itself. In the set I received, the delrin pads weren_ attached to the conical jaws; I_ going to have to identify a glue that will attach delrin to metal, and fix that. The other pins and doo-dads look fairly coarsely machined. Not an engraver, so might not matter so much to me, but if you are, and need that, it might be a deal-breaker.

A setting vice has been on my wish list of jewelry tools for a few years. It makes setting the bezel around the stone so much easier and more efficient because it frees up both hands. I have looked at a few different models and most are quite expensive so I've been reluctant to spend that much on a tool that was more of a want than an need. This one is more moderately priced and does everything I wanted it to so I am super happy. Also, it comes with a full set of accessories, and some other brands make that a separate and additional purchase. Highly recommend.
