I bought this because a friend was having to call a plumber out every six months or so to clear roots from the sewer outside her house and was about to call again when she asked me why the roots keep growing back. This had been going on since she bought the house seven years ago. I figured if I bought a snake I could clear it for her every time it started to backup, and save her some money. This thing pulled quite a bit of roots out of the drain. It has plenty of power to clear a clog and was easy to use. It got the job done. I ran a camera down the pipe afterward and found a spot where the tree roots were growing in through a broken joint. I dug it up and replaced that section of pipe and now everything is good. And I now have a reliable snake (drain cleaner) that I can use to help others.

This thing is just as good as any other drain snake. Compact but good construction. I have had zero issues with it.

Not a bad machine. Has reasonable power, but that is not a bad thing when operating this type of drain cleaner. You can snap or even entwin the cable in the pipe more easily with the more powerful professional machines. I would use this for light roots and for regular pipe maintenance.Use it before roots get to thick and compacted in the pipe or it might not do the trick..

This machine is a beast. I do a lot of drain cleaning for work and bought this with my own money to use because I got tired of using the drain machines at work that everyone uses and beats up. It’s a little heavier than I had hoped for but the quality of the machine makes up for it. They had a Labor Day sale and I got it for a great price. Why spend a lot of money elsewhere. VEVOR makes a great product.

we bought this in May as we had roots make their way into our sewer pipes for grey water. it had plenty of power and does what it states it will do. it was a bit of a learning curve on how to actually use the machine correctly but a helpful youtube video helps out immensely and once you know what to do everything after that is time and patience. I also probably would have upgraded my purchase to have the self feeding/rewinding option. I will give this a 4/5 stars as it does exactly what it says it does but figuring it out and what each attachment is for needed more instruction and there are only basic. it does also come with some leather gloves that are beyond cheap and good for only the waste bin. I also think because of the weight of it all models should have wheels for moving and this one does not. pros very powerful easy to use ( once more instructions were found) YouTube. well made/sturdy cons needs better operating instructions very heavy for one person to lift needs wheels for moving
