Great set for the beginner or reginner
This set is a great buy for a decent beginner e-drum set. I am not much of a drummer anymore, with about 30 years between now and when I used to play in a band, but I am sufficiently happy with this set. The specs speak for themselves, so I will just list the quirks for now. 1) No choke on cymbals; 2) High-hat pedal takes some getting used to. It seems like a slight delay when opening the cymbal, which can be tricky for someone who's more familiar with acoustic sets. 3) Rimshots can be finicky. 4) No bell sound from ride cymbal. If these features are important to you, then you would have to spend more than double. These drums compare with $600+ sets, and it is more than enough to put a smile on my face.

Good price, some hesitations
As far as price goes, this is the best deal that I saw. However, as I've messed around with it, I have some reservations about it. I'm getting a lot of double hits/ghost hits on the high hats. The built in sounds are really just ok, so plan on connecting it to a computer and using it as a MIDI instrument. And then I'm probably asking for too much at this price point, but the pedal for the high hat is just cheap. On real drums, you can do a lot with the pedal and adjust how much you have it open and shut, but on this set, it is either completely open or completely shut and when you shut it, the sound is as loud as if you hit the high hat with full force which is a little uncalibrated imo. The included headphones are uncomfortable. When I consider that the toy drum kit has a built in speaker that is pretty decent, it feels a little weird that there isn't even a tiny speaker like that included. The wire to connect it to an outlet is short, so you'll probably need to get a cheap extension cord. Overall though, it is a very cheap price and you are able to practice on "real drums." The mesh pads are decent, but better than rubber pads that are the standard at this price point. I would recommend it to aspiring drummers who are trying to practice on rhythm and timing or for those who want to play Clone Heros on the computer. I'm probably just being too much of a snob to be fair.
