I installed a Vintage Air retrofit A/C system on my 1967 Mustang. I thought the kit would come with premade hoses, but instead came with a kit to make my own hoses. I had difficulty finding a local shop willing to make the hoses for me using the parts that came in the kit. I purchased this tool and made my own hoses. The crimps may not look quite as perfect as a premade hose, but they came out pretty good and they do not leak.

A little pricey for the DIY'er but works great. I've never been disappointed in any Mophorn tool that I have purchased. The crimper is easy to use and the finished crimp looks factory. I would recommend this tool to anybody looking for a crimper.

This comes in a painted sheet metal box. The box was a little bent up in transport. The tool comes with 7 dies. One of the dies works for #6 and #8 reduced barrier hose. The tool effortlessly makes crimps. It is nice to be able to crimp the hoses on the vehicle. No vise needed to hold the jaws.

The crimper was just what I needed. Heavy Duty enough for the job but small enough to be able to crimp in place.

The cheap Chinese tin box it came in was not up to the challenge of being bounced halfway around the world and arrived somewhat bent with a blown corner. Nothing a little TLC with some basic sheet metal tools couldn_ fix. The tool itself, while obviously Chinese, acquitted itself admirably. I was able to make excellent crimps on #12 barrier hose and repair the air conditioning on my bus without having to face the nightmare of snaking 42 feet of #12 hose through the undercarriage jungle. Definitely worth the price! Would it stand up to years of daily use? Probably not, but for making up a few custom hoses from time to time I would highly recommend it. Another reviewer said the crimp was uneven. I applied a thin film of lubriplate to the back side of the dies to be sure they didn_ hang up and the resulting crimps looked every bit as good as the factory ones.

This is a really well built tool. I was able to make a new air Conditioning line for my 59 Chevy. It worked great. The only thing that would be nice is some directions of how to use it. I did figure it out. I feel the tool is a very good value.
