My first time changing shocks\struts watched a few youtube videos on how to do it, then decided to buy this tool, am I ever glad I did! As long as you are somewhat mechanically inclined then you should have no problems with this tool. Takes a little figuring out how to adjust properly for your spring (rears required different approach than fronts) but once compressed properly I felt very safe using this. Was half the price of the high quality ones that required you to manually tighten with a wrench! and in my opinion much safer! And easier for sure! Only found 1 video on Youtube by "Redneck" showing this tool in use he liked it and I agree. Buy this and you won't be disappointed! High quality!

This has got to be one of the scariest tools next to conventional screw type spring compressors I have ever used. That being said, for the money and the practicality I would highly recommend this purchase for the back yard mechanic who occasionally compressed struts. Ease of use is a bit sketch but it does what it is intended to do.

Cheap made and finish not high quality. But.... it works. Used to put new shock springs on a RZR. Made my life easy!

Bought this to change out springs on our Honda Talon SxS and it worked well. There were no instructions on assembly but it is fairly self explanatory. I had to swap the two little "hooks" that hold the springs to get it to work correctly. It holds the spring compressed automatically which is a nice feature. Over all a very good value compared to more expensive units and saved me a lot of money verses taking it to a shop that charges over $100 an hour!
