Vacuum kit 3cfm Vacuum kit 3cfm
Good value for the money wirh a few flaws
I got this kit for silicone casting, sadly the chamber only reached 25inhg in a reasonable time and started to outgas oil mist at around 15inhg. The assembly was a breeze tho and it's really great value for the money, and I bet the oil mist problem could be solved by using better vacuum oil. I'll be returning this one and getting a 9cfm two stage version for better performance.

Looks nice, works nice, fairly quiet as others noted. The pump came soaked in oil that leaked through the exhaust cap. Most likely this happened because the package was tumbled around while in shipping. Nevertheless, the exhaust cap should be replaced with a sealing cap for transport. I suppose completely draining the oil would not be commercially viable, too time-costly. Anyway, it took me over an hour to clean up the mess thoroughly, including the exhaust cap with filters. It does let oil mist at the exhaust out while pumping (wrap it in paper towel to catch the mist). The vacuum chamber is very nice. The gauge and valves are OK. Holding same pressure for 24 hrs, no leaks. I did get the bottle of oil with it.
