I ordered this to drive my air compressor motor, and it works well. There are a lot of settings to customize, and the manual assumes you know what you're doing. While not mentioned in the description anywhere, it can be controlled both from the front panel, via some external inputs, and also via RS-485 which is very nice.
However, there are a few issues that should be mentioned:
* There is no provision for strain relief on the power connections. Since this unit appears like it's made to be stand-alone and not mounted in an enclosure, this is bad. You do *not* want something snagging on a wire to rip one of the motor phases out at full speed, it would be a bad day for both the VFD and the person touching the cable.
* When the motor is off, I can still hear some high-pitched sounds from the motor. It appears some high-frequency stuff is still getting through.
