We purchased it a few weeks ago to keep ants during their winter diapause. Currently it is set for 20 Celsius and works well, we put a thermometer inside and it shows exactly the temperature it is set for. I am curious how it will work at lower temperatures but so far so good. It is pretty quiet but it does switch on sometimes and then it's a bit more noisy - but I have not tried the silent mode.
Be mindful that the main display cannot be switched off (or at least I have not found out how) and it gives off an intense blue light - I suggest you don't put it in your bedroom.
