I have use it to press small batches of honey. Works like a charm and it is possible to press it all the way down.

I primarily use it for pressing the fruit pulp left over after making fruit juice for better yield. It works more easily with berries (grapes, blackberries), while it is more difficult with fibrous fruits (apples, sour cherries), where the fruit pulp also starts to move. The structure is very sturdy and demanding, and the pressing plate is thick enough. The only downside is that while turning the handle, the pressing container also rotates, so it needs to be held, even though the shaft is not clamped into the pressing plate (I plan to have the lower end of the shaft machined so that a larger ball bearing can fit under it). One more thing would be good: if the upper end of the pressing shaft were hexagonal, so that it could also be used with battery-powered impact wrenches, which are now available everywhere.

There’s a deal of prepare job to be done, like pealing, quartering et c. apples, but the rest is easy. And the good cider is worth it. Easy clean-up.

I have not used this item yet. I got it for crushing blackberries this fall for making jam. I will come back and update this review after I have used it. It does appear to be well made from a visual inspection.

I use this press as a cheese press. Overall, I'm happy with it. The quality isn't quite what some might be, but the price is quite a bit less than most too. I would recommend. One note: Apparently the capacity advertised is for the outer canister. I bought the 0.9 gallon unit for more capacity, but the inner canister that holds the cheese is only half a gallon. I went back to the listing and looked and in the smaller print in the description it does say that. Buy a larger unit if you want more capacity.

Regarding the manual fruit press machine for juice ... I'm looking for a low volume (but not too small), perhaps to press 4lt of juice per week, for all types of fruits (apples, citrus, pears, grapes, plums etc) and olive oil. Is this suitable? Also, what is the difference between the 2lt and 3lt machines as the inner barrels are the same size? Is it recommended to use the filter mesh or can the machine be used without. I don't expect or want 100% filtration and some fibre passing through is ok
