Unusually useful. Very satisfied with my purchase. One of the best purchases I have made this year. It allows me to do many projects that I would not have been able to do before.

Good crimper used it a few times now and no problems with using it and the eire cutter slots cut clean

I needed a swaging tool capable of crimping 5/16 aluminum loop sleeves over 5/16 flagpole halyard rope with stainless steel cable core. I opened the swaging tool to it's extent, but the aluminum loop sleeves would not fit in the 5/16 opening without me forcing them by tapping them in with a hammer. I'm not sure if that's the fault of the tool, or the particular sleeves I bought. Compressing the swaging tool to complete the 5/16" crimp took some effort, but wasn't impossible. Once I had the loop sleeve in place, I placed one handle on the ground, put my foot on the tool's pivot point, and pressed the other handle down with both arms. I was able to complete all the crimps I needed, so I'm giving the tool 4/5 stars. The tool is a good value. It was the cheapest swaging tool capable of 5/16" that I found.The crimping loop sleeves I used that required force to fit in the tool were: Antrader Aluminum Crimping Loop Sleeve 20PCS Wire Rope Aluminum Sleeve Clip Fittings for 5/16" Wire Rope and Cable

'- Update - 1/11/2019------------------------------------Seller actually refunded the entire purchase price! I never asked for that in any way which took me by surprise. What can I say, this company actually cares about customer satisfaction which is rare these days! For that I increased my rating to 5 stars! If they just increase the length of the handles on the crimper to about 40-48" it would be perfect in my opinion. I intend on doing just that very thing in the near myself so as to not injury myself!------------------------------------The crimper works just fine and seems to be a quality tool but the handles are way to short for the size sleeves that its suppose to handle!We were crimping on 1/4" zinc cooper sleeves for stainless steel cable and I'm not a weak person at all (I lift weights almost everyday) and I could barely close the handles on the zinc copper sleeves without giving myself a freaking hernia! So for the rest of the day to play it safe, my dad and I teamed up to crimp the sleeves together and that wasn't no easy task!If the handles were about 12" - 18" longer this crimper would be absolutely perfect (just my opinion). I can only imagine the amount of force it takes to crimp an 5/16" aluminum sleeve (now that's a scary thought)!I'll be doing a video review of this crimper on my YouTube channel (Weaver Cattle Company) eventually if you want to see just what I'm talking about!'

I own a Arctic cat 4 wheel side by side with a 3/8 in cable wench, have had to repair the hook end a number of times with this tool and love it. before i owned it I had to go to the nearest hardware store and borrow and or rent the tools to repair it. I would totally recommend this tool.

This is a must for 3/8" wire rope cable, you will need a bench mounted vise for easier crimping. The #1 reason I bought this is because when using the cables with clamps (X3 clamps each end), at max pull (12,000 pound pull) they slipped! I cannot have this happen EVER. I maid up a 75' cable and put it to the test. I LOVE IT. No moving from the original crimped position. I do recommend.

Worked great. Easy operation with one handle braced against solid surface. Good final crimp.
