Good Little Starter Anvil, Shipling Department Needs Some Work
20 kg Blue
Great, inexpensive starter anvil! I purchased this for my husband to use with his starter forge. Works as expected, no issues. Whomever packaged it put it, though, did so in the flimsiest piece of cardboard they could find though put together with a crap-ton of packing tape. It arrived with the untaped portion of the box shredded off and 1/4 of the anvil exposed and scuffed up. Didn't make a difference to my husband for what he was using it for, but I wasn't pleased about it since I was giving it to him as a gift. Just glad it didn't get stolen off the porch!

its an anvil
50 kg Blue
I am a novice blacksmith:It is exactly what you would expect. A descent sized anvil. Has quite a ring. Good bounce. There is going to be some extensive clean up to get rid of that blue paint, to reshape the horn into an actual horn, and to correct some minor defects. Looks like the hardy hole will need some attention as well. Worst case in a few years, i will use it as a punch plate and frequently used hardy tool holder. The "Gift hammer" i got was a crappy 100 gram piece of junk, not the 500 gram one advertised. At least my 9 year old will get to play blacksmith with it, after i reset the head on a new handle.

Beast of an anvil that anyone can afford.
50 kg Blue
This anvil is absolutely what the blacksmithing community needs. Affordable, cast 1045 steel. Has great rebound, rings like a church bell, and so far has held up well. Big magnets are a must so break apart an old speaker or subwoofer to dull the ring and securely mount it to a nice base. Its loud. Strip the horn and round it out when ya get it for sure. Break the edges with a flap disk and plan to clean up the hardy hole. The pritchel hole is basically useless unless you have a 1" round bar to turn into a hold down tool. An option for the hold down would be to make a hardy tool for the hold down to sit in. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the anvil. No clue what the hell I'm supposed to do with the 1 lb tack hammer they sent with it lol.

Sturdy and a great value.

Different than the pictures
40 kg Blue
It doesn't look like the picture. The whole thing was painted blue rather than the bare metal. There was one edge that was folded over for me, but that was able to be grinded out with no effort. The hammer isn't really of much use at all with how small it is, but the anvil itself works great

Price is right
60kg Blue
Good weight, good ring, good size. No cutting step and the "hardy hole", if you can call it that, is just plain weird. But it is an anvil...and for the beginner, is an excellent value. It is cast, not forged, so expect some patched defects. Nature.of the beast. Rebound is ok. Definitely not the hardest steel around though.

Great anvil but not what I expected....

Great product! Its the acciaio anvil that they sell in 66lbs. And did not come as pictured and absolutely is not drop forged but still a great anvil for the price. Steel construction.

Great for making knives.
20 kg Blue
Great for small projects I've used it for making knives. I bought it as an anvil to get started with until I can get a bigger one. It's black not blue I'm not sure why they list it as blue but I like the black better.
