Great, inexpensive starter anvil! I purchased this for my husband to use with his starter forge. Works as expected, no issues. Whomever packaged it put it, though, did so in the flimsiest piece of cardboard they could find though put together with a crap-ton of packing tape. It arrived with the untaped portion of the box shredded off and 1/4 of the anvil exposed and scuffed up. Didn't make a difference to my husband for what he was using it for, but I wasn't pleased about it since I was giving it to him as a gift. Just glad it didn't get stolen off the porch!

Reasonably priced and substantial enough weight, size and hardness to be a great starter anvil.

I bought this for my son_ forge and he is well pleased

I haven_ used this anvil as of yet, so I_l only comment on it's appearance in regards to my expectations. Overall, it_ pretty much what I was hoping to get. It_ a forged steel 66lb anvil, and after smashing a few cans on it and hammering some copper wire flat, it shows no deformation so it seems pretty stout. The casting seems solid, although this anvil is rough in spots, particularly around the edges. The horn is actually 2 pieces, welded to the rest of the anvil. This came as a bit of a surprise, and I hope it holds up. I_l need to take a grinder to the horn to smooth some spots out. That aside, I_ glad I could find a decent anvil at this price. I finally decided to upgrade my rectangular block of steel for an anvil. A proper anvil. But with forged anvils being 3X as expensive, at least, I went with this. I'm just a knifesmith, don't do too much proper blacksmithing. This was the perfect size.First day forging on it, and it's great! The face is much harder than my previous anvil. My hammer work is quicker and more efficient. Suddenly my planishing is so much more successful and easy. And it makes it so much more simple to straighten my blades, as well.I should have done this so long ago.

This anvil works great is great its held up to a beating thus far, seems it'll last many moons more.-RM

Anvil came quick. The quality seems okay so far. I took a star off because the bottom was rusty from sitting on a shelf somewhere forever.
