This ball vise is a bargain for anyone starting out in engraving on a budget. I do not own any of the high end brand vises, but I have little doubt this vice is not as precisely made as its expensive competition.I have included a picture of what I received in the box. The maker went to great lengths to convince you it is a well known high end brand, but after comparing the parts breakdown to the vice, they are not the same.Hopefully if you are getting into engraving you have some skill working with metal, and you will have the ability to tune this vice "kit" and make it into a tool that will be much more pleasant to work with.Things I have identified that need to be done to mine....tightening up the fit of the jaws in the top grooves, and removing the top of the vise and cleaning/greasing the bearings.The fit of the jaws in the channel they run in is a bit sloppy for my tastes. The fit side to side appears to be much better then it is up and down. If you rock the jaw back to front there seems to be excessive movement, and I am concerned that will allow the jaws to work loose with the vibration from engraving. I plan to take a punch and peen the side of the jaw (on top of the side rail...front and back) so it fits better in the groove it slides in. I am sure this will take a little fitting and fine tuning but should make the jaws fit much more solidly.With a little sweat equity I think this will be a very nice vise at a fraction of the cost of the big name competition.

Let's be honest. It's from China. It is covered with a thin, but very smelly, coat of chinesium. The base looks like a small, real rubber, industrial, tire, and smells JUST LIKE the PA farmshow. ( which is NOT a bad thing. You know if you know...) You WILL need to thoroughly clean and degrease this thing, cause it smells horrible, the grease will get all over EVERYTHING. I had to take it to pieces, and washed it off with brakleen. Both to get the grease off, and to clean off an AWFUL LOT of small chips, which were grinding inside the vise ways and screw. It was VERY crunchy. Once you get it clean, well, mine is fairly smooth, and will likely wear in over time. The fit on the pin-pieces is blond one tight. They wouldn't actually go in until after I washed all the machining grit off. AGAIN, this is NOT a negative. The 5 inch I got is machined to very tight tolerances. I don't own another vise like this, and won't be getting another one until someone shows me something 5 times better. Which I don't see happening soon.

Handy tool, good price fixtures are nice especially the ring fixture, good price, only slight glass is the cinching ring doesn't seat easily, don't know whether it's the plastic material or loose tolerenceof the 2 metal portions. Other than that great value!!

Esa es una herramienta ideal para quien está empezando como yo, es un producto robusto y la primera impresión es que muy resistente, pero lo cuanto resistente es solo iré saber a la larga, los componentes extras que viene tienen buena pinta, hay algunos que se nota que no van durar mucho. De todos los modos tiene una buena calidad precio, espero que tenga buena durabilidad y que sea de fácil mantenimiento.

Bonne qualité prix...sauf le socle tourne mal par rapport au socle..ce n'est pas sur roulement à bille..cest dur de le faire tourner ou pivoter...mais me convient très bién. C'est équivalent à du matériel pro mais beaucoup moins cher.

A good weight and spin to the main vise. However some of the accessories arrived rusted and there are machining burns on the tip of the ball vise where the pins would go. Good amount of accessories for the price.

Kula sama w sobie działa pięknie, tylko akcesoria są mało użyteczne. Podczas szlifowania topią się plastikowe nakładki. Szczęki nie do końca precyzyjnie łapią. Mogło by być lepiej ,ale cena wszystko osładza.
