U must drill it to secure the base spring holder or else it fly to ur face.

Very usefull tool and it is easy to use. I used it recently to change the spring and it went smoothly.

I bought this to work on my BMW but the struts on my BMW have little tabs. So it doesn't really fit them, but I can use it for the struts from my F-150. You just need to look at your struts and if they have tabs they might not be able to clamp the strut. Other than that this tool works great. It's easy to compress the springs and release the springs.
