Doweling jig, This is what you call a cool tool, wish i had one years ago. It has windows in the side to line up your marks, my wood went together with no issues, This jig is a great buy.

This thing works really well to start holes or use as a marker. It’s important to hold it very tight, especially when drilling. Gloves are recommended. Once you’ve got your hole started it’s up to you to hold the drill even - it’s possible to start exactly on center on one side then finish off where the hole exits if you drill all the way through a piece of wood. But, for inserting short dowels to connect pieces, it is great.

I did not expect much from this purchase because of the price. As soon as it came in I had 5 holes to drill in a 4x4. Drilling long was through a 5-inch 4x4 end piece. Everything worked great. I then drilled 4 holes at 30 degrees, again all good. I am impressed, and those wanting to save money, try it!
