Very well made and substantial

I like the vice, but the numbers in degrees are very hard to see, as they weren't stamped into the base very well.

Absolutely, clean it out before using it. The insides of the castings were full of grinding dust, sand, slag, shavings, you name it. You'll want to know how to clean it anyways. For the cost I'm totally fine with some de-burring and cleaning. The total runout of the ways was .0025 and in the most often used area was only .0005 side to side. The screw actually has a thrust bearing and the jaws seem to be pretty square. Repeatability has been totally acceptable for me. The sliding jaw has had a tiny bit of push to the left when clamping, but we're talking very small. I only notice when clamping stacks of tabs to square up the ends. An excellent vise for the cost. Just ignore the weird blue paint job.

Mine arrived ready to work with just a tiny amount of clean up. Vise was smooth operating, and very clean appearance. The bottom of the one I got is very flat, like wringing flat. Keyways are 14mm. Jaws open to 4-7/8" plus you can move the rear insert to the back of the movable jaw for a total of 8-15/16" clamping. The keys provided look to be MIM parts but they work and you can always make 1/2" or 5/8" keys if you need to. Crazy good value. A++++++++++++. Oh, yeah, the holes on my table are 5-3/8" apart and the vise bolted down perfect with 1/2" bolts.Bought another vise. This one in 6 inch (160 mm) size. Super happy with this one too. Jaws open to 163 mm and are 45 mm deep. Jaw inserts were ground on the vise and mate perfectly. You cannot see the joint when closed. I am sure I will if I remove them and don't put them back the same way however. Paint is great, Inside edges of bed are real sharp, as ground. May take a stone to them, or not. Great value.

Bist du deppat!! Ich hab ihn heut bekommen und hab gar nicht geblaubt was ich da bekommen hab. Hab vergessen beim Bestellen auf das Gewicht (24kg) zu schauen. Das ist mal eine positive _erraschung, zum Gl_k hab ich eine massive St?nderbohrmaschine ;)

Zu meiner _erraschung wurden bei derFertigung dieses Schraubstocks dieangegebenen Toleranzen tats?chlicheingehalten. Man sollte vor der Ben_zungdie teilweise recht scharfen Kanten brechenund die Spindel schmieren,doch ich bewertehier das Preis/Leistungsverh?ltnis,und dasist ausgezeichnet.

No problems at all, it does what_ supposed to do. I don_ know if they sale a model w out a swiveling base that may cost less; I can_ think of a reason why i would ever need a swiveling base and it shortens the stroke length of the mill. I don_ mean to go off on the base, it_ two bolts to take it off and I_ happy.
