Does it have the function to make left-hand threads?

A lathe can process forward threads as well as left-hand threads. Processing left- and right-hand threads is a matter of craftsmanship and not a function of the machine tool. To install a chuck on a woodworking machine, you only need to install a transition head on the spindle. One end of the transition head has an M18 thread and is screwed on the spindle. The other end is screwed on the chuck according to the chuck thread.

The lathe works ok, but be sure to check all of the components for quality when they arrive. My steady rest had to be replaced as was unusable. The threading table is trash, inaccurate and plain wrong for many combinations. Cannot cut 1.5mm pitch thread with the supplied gears. Overall no regrets but needs some work and extra equipment.

Great for beginners and hobbyists. There are plenty of youtube videos on how to operate/upgrade these. I do recommend ordering extra belts, or upgrading to a common size immediately. If you want a plug n play machine, THIS ISNT IT!!! However, if you want to understand ALL the ins and outs, to make things better, then this will work perfectly. I'm not a machinist, more of a tinkerer. Ima go for now, I got cool stuffs to make!!

Great machine
Got it unboxed, put it together, way beyond expectations. Fine little lathe. Cuts nice appears true and I love it. Wish it had a digital RPM indicator, but other than that it is a great little hobbyist lathe. I would recommend this lathe to anyone. I am in the Railroad hobby, G or 1 scale and this is perfect.
