Impeccable
White 1qt

Pleasantly Impressed
So far this ice-cream maker has worked well. I’ve made about 2 gallons in the last month, mixing about 3 batches at a time. I triple my custard ice-cream recipe, chill it overnight, and run the ice cream maker on CHILL for 20-30 minutes before switching it to MIX, and adding the batter. That way it only runs about 35 min, per batch. Empty the bucket, wash, dry THOROUGHLY, and repeat. If this thing stands up I will be totally happy. At the moment, no complaints and I’ll never buy fake, toxic ice cream again.
One improvement that would be nice is if you could switch from CHILL to MIX without having to shut it off and re-start. But as long as the controls last, it’s not an issue. The machine gets louder once the cream starts to get stiff. I don’t let mine power down too much.
My recipe atm is 1-1/2c is whipping cream, 1-1/2c milk OR 10%, 1/2 can sweet condensed milk, 1/2 c white sugar, 8 egg yolks, 1/8 tsp salt and 1 Tablespoon vanilla. Heat the dairy to 160°, separate the eggs. Save the whites for sponge cake and put the yolks in a bowl, then dump into the blender with 1/2 cup sugar and the salt. Whip on high til max volume reached.... about 20 seconds. Stop blender. Pour in a bit of hot dairy and blend on low, add to rest of dairy (it won’t all fit in the blender), return to heat 160° remove from heat, add vanilla, and cool quickly.
Fill the bucket so about 1” of the middle dasher bar still shows, as the cream expands during freezing. Make sure the dasher is in mixing mode before adding the batter or it’ll freeze to the walls and the dasher won’t be able to turn. I just take the lid off while I’m adding the batter, I don’t use the trap door thing. Then put the lid back on right away.
It’s a pain scraping the finished treat from the dasher but they’re all like that. This one cleans easier than some I’ve used. Use a plastic or wooden utensil.
Put in the freezer a couple of hours to set up. It gets a bit hard but doesn’t take long till it scoops easily.
Seriously delicious.

Great unit
Love that you don’t have to prechill bowl and can make multiple batches one after another. Nice quality.

Works well
We’ve gone through a few different ice cream makers from the stupid ball that you shake, the kitchen aid frozen bowl and paddle and the nina creamy. This is by far the easiest to use and the only option that you can make ice cream with “on a whim”. Everything else requires a pre-freeze period so you’re not getting your ice cream fix till the next day. When I want my frozen treat I want it now-ish. The longest that it has taken was the full hour but that was using still hot custard base. Frozen yogurt is ready in 15-20 min.
Very easy to clean and use and the price was better than any other compressor model I could find.
