I have made 1/2 a dozen batches so far. Only issue I've seen is it doesn't get rock hard when its completed. I have extended the runt ime by 20 mins. It makes it almost scoopable. I then freeze it to get the texture I'm after. I like the ease of use and ease of clean up.

Works as it should bought as a gift

I bought the upright version about 2 years ago and haven't bought ice cream since. Coffee, chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, brown sugar, peppermint, and a lot of vanilla. Great for floats, Sundays, and great with cereal. Don't go over 4 cups total liquid. For basic vanilla I've been using 3 cups whole milk, 1 cup granulated sugar (or packed brown sugar), and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Use an immersion blender until sugar is dissolved. Pour into machine on lowest softness. Divide small amounts into pre frozen wide mouth pint jars. More like gelato than ice cream. No eggs. It says hand wash but I still put the parts in the dishwasher. Careful about spills and drips getting into cracks.

This maker is very easy to use and clean up is a cinch. The recipes in the manual are pretty accurate, the only caution I would offer is don't get greedy and try to make a little bigger batch. As the ice cream starts to freeze it expands and when almost done the frozen product will build on the stir paddles, if the batch is too big it will start smearing on the lid and overflow out of the pan. So far we have only made ice cream so can't speak to making the other products listed. We have found that adding extra ingredients like nuts works best about 2/3rds of the way through a batch. The machine makes a little noise but it is not overbearing or interfering with life in general. Overall we are very pleased with the maker and our kids and grandkids are having fun coming up with future concoctions!
