The winch was very easy to install. I tested it out with the plow I also purchased. It lifts the plow with ease. I will see how long it holds up once I start using it this winter to keep my driveway clear.

The mounting plate is definitely not designed for every machine. I had to do some modifications and welding to properly install this winch. It does work very well. I am not a fan of the short leads going from the control box to the winch, it puts it in a vulnerable spot. The control box could have a better design and higher IP rating given how close to the front splash zone it has to be mounted. Some people have commented on how loud it is when operating, it is loud, but that is not a concern to me. Other than that I have no issues. I give it a five star rating based on the price and the quality of this unit.

Of course not an amazing winch feature wise but at the price I paid on sale, outstanding deal. Works fine, has freespool, fairlead, cabling and switch, just add 12v. I looked at just a used 3000 or 3500, just want it for front of landscape trailer to pull dead equipment on and the sale price for this was $70 less than what people want for a used 3000# and used is usually missing something. Good deal for light duty needs.
