Great value for the money. I have not had the opportunity to use the anvil but it appears to be well made, sturdy and durable. I look forward to this anvil getting lots of use.

NOTE: this review is for the 66lb (30kg) steel (acciaio) anvil, not the lower weight and inferior quality 55lb anvil.This steel anvil is of sufficient mass to begin smithing on a small scale. I'll be using mine for tool and knifemaking and have no doubts that it will suit this need. The face is well machined, with chamfered edges to prevent damage. The hardy hole is the right shape and size though it does need cleaning up to be free of burrs. It has a nice sustained ring suggesting that the steel is well formed with no major defects but it will need to be dampened so as not to drive everyone around insane - a big old speaker magnet attached under the heel should help. I've not pounded any hot metal yet and will report back once I do. At this price, you'd be hard pushed to find anything better!

This makes a very good starter and Bill, was better than I expected. After several half mast and completely missed blows with a 2 1/2 pound hammer there is no damage to the face. Highly recommended.

I just kind of guessed on "sheerness." I purchased this for my husband and he loves it. He was worried about the extra work involved that other reviewers commented on but he said it was not bad at all. He loves it (way better than the free hand me down he had) and felt we got good value.

Amboss ist so, wie ich ihn bei dem Preis erwartet h?tte. Einzig das Gewicht ist nicht ganz 20 kg (gewogen: 18,7 kg), doch das ist in meinem Falle egal. Ich bin kein Schmied und brauche den Amboss nur als Unterlage/Gegenpart f_ diverse kleinere Stanzvorg?nge, bei denen das Amb?sschen meines Schraubstocks nicht ausreichte. Daf_ ist er perfekt.Von daher: 5 Sterne, weil s. erster Satz dieser Rezension.

This anvil was a Christmas present for my husband & I am very happy to say, he was thrilled with it.It arrived fast, well packaged & let me tell you, this thing is sturdy & well made. We were both very impressed with the construction of it & the value.Very pleased with my purchase!V.S.
