So far, the unit has performed as expected. It doesn't have some of the advanced features like the big name brands, such as sensorless vector mode. The real problem is the documentation. Parameters are poorly explained. For example, there is no documentation related to adding an external potentiometer like the max kilo-ohms. Then, P73 and P74 set the "Maximum/Minimum external analog" values. Trial and error let me find values that worked with my pot but it was very much a stab in the dark.
Overall, though, it provides the key features of a VFD at a very affordable price.

I purchased this VFD to run a 2HP 3-phase motor in a vertical bandsaw. There is a very narrow range of frequency (20-33 Hz) that it will start the motor. Selecting lower than 20 just gives a buzzing sound and doesn't start. Selecting higher produces an error (seems to trip a breaker) and shuts down VFD. When selecting in the narrow range mentioned above, after the motor starts, then I can increase the frequency to full levels. I wasn't sure what to expect but I thought 5HP VFD would be sufficient to start a 2HP 3-phase motor, but I guess I should of went bigger??

Ok, this VFD is interesting. I purchased two of them to scale up single-phase residential 240 volt power to three-phase 240 volt power for an older commercial air compressor I got for free. This compressor has two three-phase 1 HP motors on a pump each. I had no choice but to get a set of VFD’s. Knowing just enough about electricity to be dangerous, I decided to make this thing work on my own. I’m an avid DIYer and have wired whole houses on my own, with following electrical inspections of course. So, I researched these and other VFD’s. I decided since these claimed to do what others did for a third the price I decided to take a chance with the less expensive Vevor VFD.
Here’s what I found. These things are great for converting single to three phase. That’s straight forward and expected. The huge additional advantage they offered me was their ability to “ramp up” the motors with steadily increasing electrical frequency resulting in a way softer startup than a traditional single-phase motor that has massive electrical draw for the first few seconds of their initial start. This is huge for me since I am off grid, have a 4000w 240v inverter running from eight 6 volt Rolls batteries charged by solar power. Because there are two motors there is a possibility that they may start simultaneously, although I have the pumps’ pressure switches set at different cut-in pressures. Just want to be extra secure knowing should they start up simultaneously, it won’t trip the 40 amp breaker they are both drawing from, or trip the inverter’s internal breaker. Huge advantage and bonus.
Now you have the context, here’s the feedback. The instructions are weak at best. They are definitely translated from likely Chinese. It makes it challenging for one to interpret them and to know if one is indeed making the correct connections. If incorrect, it could cause a catastrophic failure. For this reason I took the entire instruction manual, videoed it, uploaded it to Chat GPT and it not only interpreted it, it also gave me clear instructions, both for wiring and for programming these, for my particular application. I wish I could give you all the instructions I created for myself, printed off, and hung right beside the two VFD’s. I’d bet trying to interpret the instructions, translating them with AI, and then creating solid instructions for myself, took me an additional 8-10 hours. No joke. If you’re reading this, it’ll take you about an hour since you’ll know to throw it straight into AI right off the bat.
Other than this, I’m happy with these. They’re working flawlessly. They are amazing at ramping up the electrical frequency so I have soft starts on my two pump motors. If you’re ready to interpret the weak instructions, I would definitely recommend.
