Used it on 8mm laminate flooring and it definitely made the job easier. Bit of muscle needed though, but overall gets the job done.

For the money, this is a pretty solid piece of kit and makes cutting of laminate planks a much quicker and cleaner job than constantly having to go outside to saw (not to mention the issue of laminate blunting saw blades very quickly). I have tried it on 12mm laminate and there was no way it was going to cut through it. With quite a bit of force applied, it does cut 8mm planks although I would only recommend it for cross cuts. Despite being physically capable of length-wise cuts, the board edge was quite 'chewed' and when I tried cutting out a rectangle to fit around a door, the board simply broke across the short cut leaving a jagged edge rather than a clean cut. The tool itself seems well made and sturdy, and in fairness, having read reviews of many other cutters at higher prices, this seems to do as good a job as any and given it's robustness, I think it will last a long time. Would I recommend? yes - especially if you are doing a lot of laminate plank laying. The time it saved made it a very worthwhile purchase and avoided a lot of dust.

I have only tried it on 8mm laminate flooring I had in the shed didn't really use it yet but it cuts it just fine without extending the handle last cutter I bought on vevor a different model was useless just wouldn't cut but this one seems to work
