I had it as an off-grid + generator-connected inverter for 2 years now, closed inside a metal box outside + some lead acid batteries to run a water pump / small loads of up to 1kw.
It runs like a champ, i can only recommend it, but make sure that you read the specifications carefully. It can only charge batteries with 600W maximum, so keep that in mind when you are picking solar panels. I's suggest a 2kw installed power at maximum since you won't benefit for most of it otherwise.
If you only have a setup that you're powering rarely each week i suggest you do like I did and get a single 450W solar panel (or even two) for a budget reliable setup.
